Exhibit #1 Business Card
I used circles to show how Public Relations can take different audiences and connect them together. I chose a font that resembled a type writer because PR involves a lot of writing. I used the elipse tool in photoshop to create circles and lowered the opacity to complete the simple, minimalistic look.

Exhibit #3 Poster
I created a simple design by placing the image of a graduation cap inside the text. I used two different fonts in my flyer including Arial Black and Baskerville which I thought contrasted well with each other. I aligned the main points in the center, which is usually discouraged, but I thought it looked good that way. I used the rectangle tool to underline Education and got my image from Pexels.

Exhibit #4
I used contrasting colors with the grey background and black font. I wanted my main message to stand out most so I chose a dark green font. I used an image from a stock website. I aligned the top texts on opposite sides. I had a lot of information to include on the flyer so I organized it into two different text boxes that were equal in size. I used the gradient tool and applied it to my background.

Exhibit #5
I designed a poster for the YOUcet Conference which is a Technology focused conference. I found a stock image that included people collaborating using technology and felt it was appropriate. The image had circles and shapes around it and I created circles to include the information needed so that it would look like it was part of the image. I used font colors found in the image to draw everything together.

Exhibit #6
I edited a photo that I had using photoshop. First I created a new layer and filled it with yellow to bring out a brighter color. I moved the levels around to make it look more natural. Next I created another layer and filled it with blue, repeating steps from the first layer. Last, I increased the curves to give the image an overall brighter look.

I created my own style in photoshop and used it on an image with the font. I used: bevel & emboss, inner glow, and gradient overlay, pattern overlay, outer glow and drop shadow. I used the paint brush tool to create flower images and chose a polka dot pattern that went well with the design.

BEFORE: I redesigned a poster for the Cache Humane Society.
Exhibit #8
I wanted to create something that really showed what the Humane Society is all about while adding some festive touches into it. I kept the background white to keep things crisp and clean. I found images of the cat and dog that was on a white background that included a slight shadow of the animal to give the poster more dimension. I added a Santa hat to do the dog and found an ornament for the cat to play with. I added the Christmas lights at the top to tie everything together. I included less information than the original flyer — keeping the information at minimal with only slight details. That way, people can go to the website and find out more. I used contrasting fonts of block letters and thin cursive as well as a simple font to use for the other information.

I created a ticket to go along with the benefit auction for the Cache Humane Society. I kept the design bright and festive and tied it in with the poster by using the same Christmas lights.

Exhibit #10
I created a business card for a graphic designer. I kept the design crisp and bright using pastel green and teal with grey. I used cursive for her name because that is the natural way she writes it and I wanted the card to reflect her. I added shapes around the G to give it more of a finished look and added the rectangle on the back of the card for the same reason. I liked the look of having part of the words on Graphic Design cut off the card and chose a thick block type letter for it as well. |
